About
“In my work I look for a sensory experience. A feeling of wholeness. An energy, an emotion. My paintings always have a personal meaning, a memory, that is embedded in the work. But it is also a blank canvas that gives the viewer space for contemplation and reflection.’’
I bring myself to the canvas. Movement and expression are important aspects of the process. Minimalist compositions and natural pigments allow the viewer to contemplate. To take in the small details with full attention. Elements that are often lost in this overcrowded world. For me, my work is also about imperfection. The small cracks that are visible. The thin, fragile layers of paint that are subtly visible. The transience and vulnerability. With this, the work gives itself to the viewer. It looks beyond the filtered reality that we often experience.
